Kiongozi is a Kenya public-finance transparency reading-room. It aggregates official PDFs and structured data from the Office of the Auditor-General, Controller of Budget, Treasury, Parliament, EACC, Kenya Law, and other public sources, and links every figure back to its primary source.

As of June 2026, Kiongozi has documented KES 849.5 billion of OAG-flagged wastage across 512 audit findings parsed from 4,413 Auditor-General PDFs, and KES 200.4 billion alleged in 93 EACC investigations, court petitions, and Senate-PAC reports. The grand total documented exposure is KES 1.05 trillion across the 9 fiscal years FY 2016/17 to FY 2024/25.

Every figure is from the official record: Office of the Auditor-General, Controller of Budget, The National Treasury, Parliament of Kenya, EACC, Kenya Law judgments, Council of Governors, NG-CDF Board, SRC, PPRA, NLC, KNBS, CUE, EPRA, IEBC, and the Assets Recovery Agency. The site parses the PDFs and computes the totals; it does not invent numbers.

Are the audit findings the same as criminal convictions?

Accepted Answer

No. OAG-flagged amounts are audit findings: flagged spending or compliance gaps. Many remain unresolved or contested. Corruption-case amounts shown on the site are amounts ALLEGED in EACC investigations or court petitions. Some have been convicted; most are pending or contested.

Each county profile carries the sitting governor's track record, OAG audit findings, money accountability, and budget history.
